Week #11 brought another fun night of hockey as players continued to improve and enjoy the game together. Please remember to bring a water bottle each week and stay hydrated before, during, and after your games as we head into our final week.
TOP 5 game day reminders to make you an MVP:
1) ARRIVE EARLY, at least 10 minutes early: This will allow you time to check in, get ready and warm-up.
2) BRING BOTH WHITE AND BLACK SHIRTS
3) NAME ON HELMET please before hitting the slab: Forgot? Tape, markers and scissors are by the rink door entrance.
4) WATER = your best teammate! Stay hydrated to play better!

6pm - White C vs Black C
ItTeam White earned a hard-fought 2-1 shootout victory after the game ended 1-1 in regulation. Karim Mazhar scored the lone regulation goal for Team White, while Nolan Cooper replied with Team Black's only goal to send the game to a shootout. Both teams had several quality scoring chances, but stellar goaltending kept the game deadlocked. Leo Lagioia was named the 1st Star after an outstanding performance, allowing just one goal on 19 shots to backstop Team White to the win. Karim Mazhar earned 2nd Star honours for his timely goal, while Nolan Cooper was named the 3rd Star for scoring Team Black's equalizer. Player of the Game honours went to Antoine Poulette, who is usually a goaltender but stepped out to play as a runner. Antoine embraced the opportunity with great energy and worked hard in every shift by contributing wherever his team needed him.
Leo Lagioia – 1 goal / 19 shots
7pm - White B vs Black B
In one of the most exciting games of the day, Team Black earned a thrilling 4-3 shootout victory after the teams finished 3-3 in regulation. Daniel Ricci led the way for Team White with two goals, while Skylar Smith added the other. Team Black answered with two goals from Dane Pinto, while Elliot Francis recorded a goal and an assist, and Declan Bailey chipped in with two assists to help force overtime. After neither team could find the winner before the shootout, Team Black came through to secure the victory. Dane Pinto was named the 1st Star for his two-goal performance, Daniel Ricci earned the 2nd Star after scoring twice for Team White, and Elliot Francis was the 3rd Star with a goal and an assist. Player of the Game honours went to Xander Chagnon as a key contributor throughout the game.
Hatley Samson – 1 goal / 16 shots
8pm - White A vs Black A
Team White held off a late comeback to earn a 6-5 victory over Team Black in an action-packed game. Team White built a 1-0 lead after the first period, extended it to 2-1 after the second, and appeared to be in complete control after opening up a 6-2 advantage in the third. Mathias Simpson led the offence with a hat trick and an assist, while Eli John scored twice and added two assists. Noah Jones chipped in with a goal and an assist, and David Spottswood and Louis John each recorded an assist. Team Black refused to quit, as Harjot Vaid scored a hat trick and added an assist, Maxwell Davis scored twice, and Medhi El Kebir added the other goal to cut the deficit to one before time ran out. Mathias Simpson was named the 1st Star for his dominant four-point performance, Eli John earned the 2nd Star with four points of his own, and Harjot Vaid was the 3rd Star after leading Team Black's comeback with four points. Player of the Game honours went to Mathias Simpson for driving Team White's offence with timely scoring, excellent playmaking, and leadership throughout the game. Goalie of the Night was Tristan von Teichman, whose strong positioning, quick reflexes, and dependable defensive play helped Team White secure the win despite the late pressure. Goalie of the Night was Kamil El-Hage, whose outstanding defensive skills, calm presence in the crease, and key saves helped during crucial moments of the game.

While stats aren’t everything, part of introducing the kids to HTBHL is giving them a taste of what our adult leagues experience. The 3 stars listed in the schedule section of the website will primarily be selected based on game statistics, just as they are in our adult leagues. That said, we’ll also highlight players from each game who may not have scored a goal, but stood out through their teamwork, sportsmanship, and effort.
