Weekly Update

This was it, the last game of the season for all the marbles as we saw the 4th place team take on the 6th place team in an unlikely matchup. Read on to see how it played out and who won the championship.*** 3 STARS OF THE NIGHT ***

Raising Elbows vs Capital City Lions

The slipper no longer fits….We had our finals happen as the Cinderalla story Raising Elbows were taking on Capital City Lions who were looking to make it 2 in a row. It would be a one sided affair from the drop of the ball kicking off with Austin Perron (3G) giving CL the lead on a rebound 3 minutes in. Shortly after he would score another with his patented wrist shot from the slot. With 2 minutes left in the period Nic Perron (1G/2A) added to the lead burying a back door one timer. CL scored one more at the buzzer as JP Donnelly (2G) scored just inside the blue line. RE need a big regroup at the break as they trailed 4-0 at half while being outshot 17-0. Donnelly was feeling it after the late goal as he would score another a few minutes in taking a stretch pass and scoring far side. With 5 minutes left in the game RE would get a power play and Alexander Hughes put them on the board with a wrister top corner. CL would put a stamp on it late as A. Perron picked up his third going top cheese in tight and that was how we finished as CL won their 2nd title in a row with a 6-1 win.
